Ionic Equations - Harper College
Ionic equations and net ionic equations are usually written only for reactions that occur in solution and are an attempt to show how the ions present are reacting. While ionic equations show all of the substances present in solution, a net ionic equation shows only those that are changed during the course of the reaction.
Acid-Base Reactions (Gas Producing) - LHS AP Chemistry
Because there are no spectator ions the equation as written is the correct net-ionic equation. Type #3 - metal sulfite + acid reaction This reaction also looks like a type #1 gas-forming reaction, except we replace the carbonate (CO 3 ) with a sulfite (SO 3 ).
